Currently a sophomore at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), my studies push me to understand the fundamentals of computer science and the ethics of human-computer interaction. Through assigned projects in Python, Java, Racket, SQL and C/C++ I have developed a holistic approach to solving real problems with computation. I started in high school as a student athlete focused on creating personalized and functional websites for people I knew. Now I aim to combine theory and practice to become a professional in data analysis and software development.

Bachelors in Computer Science • May 2020
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is a small tech school sitting on a hill in the heart of Massachusetts. WPI's curriculum focuses on project-based collaboration. The WPI Plan spoke to my educational goals to gain applicable knowledge in my fields of interest. This school provides exciting opportunities that provide learning opportunities in every facet of professionalism.
Certificate • May 2018
I joined this school in the second grade after my parents were hired to teach there. As long as I have known it, ACS has nurtured its community and developed a culture I will always miss. I was very involved in my time at ACS, excelling in its sports programs, contributing to the high school student council, and participating in creative clubs. I hope to spread our message of community everywhere I go so the engineering process can be more fulfilling for myself and my peers.
Carpenters Assistant • May 2019 - August 2019
I held this job during the summer after my freshman year of college at WPI. The position was a carpenters assistant, working under an experienced mentor. My individual responsibilities on a typical day would be to make sure we always have the right tools prepared for our next task and to keep track of the ones we were using. This is learned pretty quickly, so as time went on my responsibilities grew a lot. This was thanks to the skill of my mentor, who was able to recognize when a task was suited for my skill level.
Councilor • May 2019 - August 2019
I spent my summer after high school working as a camp counselor at AckVenture Camps, Nantucket. The camp was run at the local community school, mostly to support the families whos businesses require long hours during the summer tourist season. My team and I were responsible for the children ages 5-7 at our camp. There was a consistent schedule in place we helped manage. My team also held responsibility for the kids on field trips that we took at least once a day, usually to historic venues or playgrounds.
Intern • April 2017
During my senior year of high school, I held my first internship at the social media branding agency BrandMoxie for two weeks over my spring break. My time was largely spent writing articles for TimeOut magazine. Due to the experience being so short, I would say the most useful takeaway was workplace etiquette. My writing also improved greatly throughout the two weeks as I was constantly getting great feedback from my supervisor.
My work experience with coding began in high school, where I started by making a website for a teacher I knew who was retiring as a proofreader. My most informative technical experiences have been while studying at WPI. our schedules here change every 7 weeks, meaning I've gotten a lot better at adapting to new and challenging situations. I have encountered many different mainstream languages, the graphic below is to help indicate the level of confidence I would have to start a project in each of them, relative to each other.

Webdesign, PhotographyMy hope for the summer of 2020 is to work at my first internship relevant to my computer science major. I would really like to practice this craft on a team where we can often take on new responsibilities. I feel the project work at WPI has prepared me well to work in a test-driven environment, implement object-oriented design, and create readable code.
